Bed nights in paid accommodation
Bed nights in registered accommodation increased five percent
In August 2023, 740,000 bed nights were registered in Oslo (+4.7 %), of which 380,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 360,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and foreign bed nights increased 22 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased five percent from last year's August.
414,000 nights (+5.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 182,000 nights (+21.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 2.6 million registered bed nights (+4.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.7 million (+31.8 %) for foreigners in Oslo, in total 4.3 million (+13.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, camping sites, short-term holiday dwellings and youth hostels. Holiday dwellings refer to self-catering huts/rooms with limited service.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Oslo, length of stay in August was on average 2.0 nights (-0.4 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-4.4 %).
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oslo on average 2.1 nights (+2.3 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-2.9 %).
365,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 49.9 percent were domestic, and 50.1 percent were from foreign countries.

1.3 million air travelers
The airport received a total of 1.3 million passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased three percent.
Of local passengers, 63.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 36.8 %.
In addition, there were 1.2 million passengers departing the airport (+4.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2.4 million (+3.8 %).
