Bed nights in paid accommodation

9,100 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 9,100 bed nights were registered in Øst-Telemark (-57.9 %), of which 5,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,800 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 68 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 24 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 58 percent from last year's June.

6,100 nights (+1.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (-38.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 42,900 registered bed nights (-24.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,200 (+25.0 %) for foreigners in Øst-Telemark, in total 72,000 (-10.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 4.6 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (-5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+12.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Øst-Telemark out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 0.2 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased 16 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Øst-Telemark, length of stay in June was on average 2.3 nights (+15.5 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-3.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Øst-Telemark on average 2.7 nights (+37.0 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-3.3 %).

4,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 64 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 48.2 percent were domestic, and 51.8 percent were from foreign countries.

Registered January-June sales were 37.3 million crowns and they increased 7.7 million crowns from the previous year.
