Registered bed nights increased 77 percent

In January 2023, 32,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+77.1 %), of which 24,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 64 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 136 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 77 percent from last year's January.

9,000 rooms (+92.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,100 rooms (+122.7 %) by business visitors.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 3.2 million registered bed nights (+36.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.5 million nights (+31.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 640,000 nights (+60.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östersund out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

14,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.2 percent were domestic, and 15.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 2.0 nights (+0.33) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+0.94).
