Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased 12 percent

In June 2023, 26,400 bed nights were registered in Östhammar (+12.2 %), of which 25,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 690 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased 12 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (330 nights).

1,400 rooms (+137.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+19.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 52,500 registered bed nights (+10.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,400 (-4.7 %) for foreigners in Östhammar, in total 53,800 (+10.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 6.9 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.1 million nights (-1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.8 million nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östhammar out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Östhammar, length of stay in June was on average 2.2 nights (-13.0 %) and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-0.1 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östhammar on average 2.3 nights (-12.9 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-16.2 %).

11,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.9 percent were domestic, and 3.1 percent were from foreign countries.
