Bed nights in paid accommodation

4,300 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 4,300 bed nights were registered in Pieksämäki Region (-6.7 %), of which 3,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 920 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 21 percent and foreign bed nights increased 193 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased seven percent from last year's June.

4,200 nights (-4.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 112 nights (-52.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 6,900 registered bed nights (-31.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,400 (+91.5 %) for foreigners in Pieksämäki Region, in total 8,400 (-23.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.2 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+2.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (-0.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 455,000 nights (+16.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pieksämäki Region out of total registered bed nights in Finland was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Pieksämäki Region, length of stay in June was on average 2.4 nights (-13.4 %) and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.8 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pieksämäki Region on average 2.1 nights (-27.1 %) and foreigners 5.7 nights (+173.0 %).

1,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.7 percent were domestic, and 9.3 percent were from foreign countries.
