In July 2024, 8,000 bed nights were registered in Pietarsaari Region (-12.2 %), of which 7,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 840 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 30 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent from last year's July.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (300 nights).
6,700 nights (-15.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+5.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 25,600 registered bed nights (+2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,300 (-24.6 %) for foreigners in Pietarsaari Region, in total 28,000 (-0.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 12 percent in registered accommodation (July)
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Pietarsaari Region, length of stay in July was on average 1.7 nights (+11.6 %) and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.6 %).
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pietarsaari Region on average 1.7 nights (+11.0 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+20.4 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.8 percent were domestic, and 9.2 percent were from foreign countries.

The airport received a total of 1,300 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 23 percent.
Of local passengers, 5.1 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 94.9 %.
In addition, there were 1,200 passengers departing the airport (+30.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2,500 (+26.5 %).
