Forecast of bed nights in paid accommodation
In September 2024, the number of bed nights in paid accommodation is expected to increase by 0.8 % compared to the previous year in Pori.
The number of bed nights is expected to increase by 9.1 % in the next six months compared to the previous year.
The forecast is based on a time series model (SARIMA), which is supplemented with exogenous (external) explanatory variables.
49,700 bed nights in registered accommodation (July)
In July 2024, 49,700 bed nights were registered in Pori (-0.4 %), of which 45,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,800 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased four percent and foreign bed nights increased 63 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent from last year's July.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (750 nights).
39,800 nights (-4.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,900 nights (+17.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 129,000 registered bed nights (-4.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,200 (+35.6 %) for foreigners in Pori, in total 150,000 (-0.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation (July)
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Pori, length of stay in July was on average 1.7 nights (+1.0 %) and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.6 %).
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pori on average 1.6 nights (-0.5 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+15.7 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.5 percent were domestic, and 5.5 percent were from foreign countries.
