Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 43 percent

In January 2023, 121,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Rogaland (+43.3 %), of which 104,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 54 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased less than one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 43 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (3,500 nights).

35,100 nights (+92.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 60,300 nights (+9.3 %) by business visitors.

Market share 6.8 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Rogaland out of total registered bed nights was 6.8 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.7 % and foreign bed nights 4.0 %.

67,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 77 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.6 percent were domestic, and 10.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Rogaland on average 1.7 nights (-0.33) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.83).
