Bed nights in paid accommodation

13,100 bed nights in registered accommodation

In August 2023, 13,100 bed nights were registered in Røros Region (-10.1 %), of which 11,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent from last year's August.

10,500 nights (-16.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,600 nights (+11.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 69,600 registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,000 (+4.5 %) for foreigners in Røros Region, in total 76,500 (+4.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 5.1 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+8.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Røros Region out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. In Røros Region, length of stay in August was on average 1.4 nights (-5.7 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-4.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Røros Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.5 %) and foreigners 0.83 nights (-26.6 %).

9,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.8 percent were domestic, and 19.2 percent were from foreign countries.
