Bed nights in paid accommodation

29,600 bed nights in registered accommodation

In June 2023, 29,600 bed nights were registered in Setesdal (-12.4 %), of which 14,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 31 percent and foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent from last year's June.

4,200 nights (+18.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 580 nights (-36.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 72,100 registered bed nights (-14.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 34,400 (+43.1 %) for foreigners in Setesdal, in total 107,000 (-1.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 4.6 million bed nights in registered accommodation (+0.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (-5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+12.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Setesdal out of total registered bed nights in Norway was 0.6 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Setesdal, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights (-14.5 %) and in Norway 1.9 nights (-3.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Setesdal on average 2.2 nights (-21.5 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.8 %).

14,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 46.2 percent were domestic, and 53.8 percent were from foreign countries.
