Registered bed nights increased 96 percent

In January 2023, 10,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Setesdal (+96.0 %), of which 7,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 470 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 96 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (1,800 nights).

1,300 nights (+29.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 410 nights (-24.4 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+49.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+51.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights (+44.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Setesdal out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

3,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 83 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.3 percent were domestic, and 16.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Setesdal on average 2.7 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 6.3 nights (+2.2).
