Bed nights in paid accommodation

Bed nights in registered accommodation increased two percent

In August 2023, 7,300 bed nights were registered in Sorsele (+1.9 %), of which 3,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased six percent and foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, bed nights in registered accommodation increased two percent from last year's August.

920 rooms (+6.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 280 rooms (-23.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 21,700 registered bed nights (-21.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,300 (+4.2 %) for foreigners in Sorsele, in total 40,100 (-11.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 8.4 million bed nights in registered accommodation (-5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-9.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.5 million nights (+6.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sorsele out of total registered bed nights in Sweden was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 40 percent compared to earlier year. In Sorsele, length of stay in August was on average 2.4 nights (-40.5 %) and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.3 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sorsele on average 2.4 nights (-58.5 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-18.0 %).

3,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 71 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 51.2 percent were domestic, and 48.8 percent were from foreign countries.
