Registered bed nights increased 54 percent

In January 2023, 30,900 registered bed nights were recorded in South Ostrobothnia (+54.2 %), of which 29,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 61 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 54 percent from last year's January.

17,800 nights (+62.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 13,100 nights (+44.0 %) by business visitors.

Market share 2.0 percent

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (+48.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 994,000 nights (+43.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 536,000 nights (+56.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of South Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 2.0 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

17,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.4 percent were domestic, and 2.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-2.9).
