658,000 registered bed nights (December 2023)

In December 2023, 658,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+0.4 %), of which 398,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 260,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased less than one percent from last year's December.

239,000 rooms (+3.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 157,000 rooms (-7.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 5.6 million registered bed nights (-1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4.0 million (+18.3 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 9.6 million (+6.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.2 million registered bed nights (+1.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.5 million nights (-1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (+13.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 20.3 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 16.1 % and foreign bed nights 34.1 %.

345,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (December 2023)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 65.8 percent were domestic, and 34.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 1.8 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.2).

979,000 air travelers (September 2023)

The airport received a total of 979,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased one percent.

Of local passengers, 83.6 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 16.4 %.

In addition, there were 1.0 million passengers departing the airport (-0.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2.0 million (-0.3 %).
