Raahe Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 22 percent
In August 2019, 3,800 bed nights were recorded in Raahe Region (+22.1 %), of which 3,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 560 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 24 percent and foreign bed nights increased 11 percent. In total, bed nights increased 22 percent from last year's August.
700 nights (+14.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,100 nights (+24.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 15,200 bed nights (+7.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,000 (+26.7 %) for foreigners in Raahe Region, in total 19,100 (+10.2 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

1,900 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 89.9 percent were domestic, and 10.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Raahe Region on average 1.9 nights (+0.19) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+0.73).

Accommodation sales 200,000 euro
Registered accommodation sales in August were 200,000 euro (+15,700).
Registered January-August sales were 1.2 million euro and they increased 103,000 euro from the previous year.
