Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 37 percent

In December 2018, 8,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Rättvik (+36.7 %), of which 8,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 35 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 79 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 37 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (75 nights).

2,100 rooms (+59.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 130 rooms (-10.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 237,000 registered bed nights (+1.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,800 (-4.0 %) for foreigners in Rättvik, in total 261,000 (+1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Rättvik out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 4.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 41 percent compared to earlier year. In Rättvik, length of stay in December was on average 4.7 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Rättvik on average 4.7 nights (-15.8 %) and foreigners 4.1 nights (-12.1 %).

1,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 131 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.6 percent were domestic, and 5.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Rättvik on average 4.7 nights (-3.1) and foreigners 4.1 nights (-6.6).
