Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In March 2023, 6,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Rauma Region (+10.2 %), of which 4,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 27 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's March.

1,600 nights (+7.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,500 nights (+11.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 12,100 registered bed nights (+24.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,800 (+82.2 %) for foreigners in Rauma Region, in total 16,000 (+34.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+7.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+2.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 484,000 nights (+27.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Rauma Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Comparison of registered bed nights between regions

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Rauma Region, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-6.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Rauma Region on average 1.4 nights (-11.7 %) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+42.2 %).

3,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.0 percent were domestic, and 11.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Rauma Region on average 1.4 nights (-0.32) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+1.3).
