Riihimäki Region: Tourism in a nutshell
2,600 registered bed nights
In January 2019, 2,600 bed nights were recorded in Riihimäki Region (-16.6 %), of which 2,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 550 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 18 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 17 percent from last year's January.
830 nights (-18.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (-15.6 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Riihimäki Region out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.
1,500 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 74.1 percent were domestic, and 25.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Riihimäki Region on average 1.9 nights (-0.25) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.11).
