Riihimäki Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased four percent
In June 2019, 5,400 bed nights were recorded in Riihimäki Region (+4.4 %), of which 4,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 710 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased eight percent and foreign bed nights decreased 15 percent. In total, bed nights increased four percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (41 nights).
3,000 nights (-9.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (+27.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 17,400 bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,300 (+14.9 %) for foreigners in Riihimäki Region, in total 21,700 (+3.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

3,200 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.1 percent were domestic, and 4.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Riihimäki Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.16) and foreigners 4.6 nights (+2.9).
