Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased two percent
In May 2019, 4,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Riihimäki Region (+1.7 %), of which 3,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 21 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's May.
1,400 nights (-17.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,200 nights (+13.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 12,700 registered bed nights (-1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (+23.6 %) for foreigners in Riihimäki Region, in total 16,300 (+3.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Riihimäki Region, length of stay in May was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (+2.1 %).
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Riihimäki Region on average 1.6 nights (-8.0 %) and foreigners 1.4 nights (+6.1 %).
2,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.1 percent were domestic, and 28.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Riihimäki Region on average 1.6 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.28).
