Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In August 2022, 322,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Rogaland (+15.4 %), of which 187,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 135,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 108 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's August.

101,000 nights (+8.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 73,700 nights (+7.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 1.1 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 474,000 (+124.6 %) for foreigners in Rogaland, in total 1.6 million (+23.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.2 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Rogaland out of total registered bed nights was 6.2 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.8 % and foreign bed nights 7.0 %.

175,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 57.1 percent were domestic, and 42.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Rogaland on average 1.9 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.19).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 185.2 million crowns (+72.9 million).

Registered January-August sales were 924.4 million crowns and they increased 313.0 million crowns from the previous year.
