Registered bed nights increased 45 percent

In December 2021, 2,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region (+45.0 %), of which 2,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 150 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 38 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,600 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 45 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (98 nights).

2,100 nights (+69.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 630 nights (-1.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 65,700 registered bed nights (+14.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,100 (-39.6 %) for foreigners in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, in total 67,800 (+11.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+109.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+44.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 593,000 nights (+823.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

1,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 128 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.1 percent were domestic, and 3.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region on average 1.8 nights (-1.1) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+1.3).
