In June 2018, 14,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region (-5.8 %), of which 13,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased six percent from last year's June.
13,500 nights (-4.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 980 nights (-24.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 45,100 registered bed nights (-0.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,100 (-13.7 %) for foreigners in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, in total 48,100 (-1.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, length of stay in June was on average 2.2 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.0 %).
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region on average 2.2 nights (-2.9 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (+19.9 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.
