6,200 registered bed nights

In April 2019, 6,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region (-23.3 %), of which 6,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 49 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 23 percent from last year's April.

5,300 nights (-27.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 930 nights (+19.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 21,600 registered bed nights (-8.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,300 (+18.6 %) for foreigners in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, in total 23,900 (-6.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+2.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+4.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 356,000 nights (-3.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, length of stay in April was on average 1.8 nights and in Finland 1.9 nights (-0.4 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region on average 1.8 nights (-3.7 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-2.5 %).

3,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.1 percent were domestic, and 0.9 percent were from foreign countries.
