2,400 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 2,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region (-61.0 %), of which 2,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 46 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 59 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 61 percent from last year's March.

1,400 nights (-70.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 990 nights (-27.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 10,900 registered bed nights (-29.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,100 (-7.2 %) for foreigners in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, in total 13,000 (-26.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 996,000 registered bed nights (-46.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 730,000 nights (-43.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 265,000 nights (-53.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region, length of stay in March was on average 1.8 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+14.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Saarijärvi-Viitasaari Region on average 1.8 nights (-0.8 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+11.7 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 58 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.7 percent were domestic, and 1.3 percent were from foreign countries.
