Registered bed nights increased two percent
In September 2019, 29,300 bed nights were recorded in Saariselkä (+2.3 %), of which 25,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased less than one percent and foreign bed nights increased 21 percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's September.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Japan (960 nights).
26,100 nights (+1.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,200 nights (+6.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and September, 139,000 bed nights (-1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 136,000 (+1.8 %) for foreigners in Saariselkä, in total 275,000 (+0.3 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Saariselkä on average 3.2 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.27).
