Sala: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased six percent
In May 2022, 4,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Sala (+6.0 %), of which 4,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 260 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 360 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's May.
800 rooms (+66.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 950 rooms (+48.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 9,700 registered bed nights (+19.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (+202.1 %) for foreigners in Sala, in total 11,000 (+28.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.4 percent were domestic, and 3.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sala on average 2.0 nights (-0.52) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+0.72).
