1,800 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 1,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sala (-16.9 %), of which 1,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 410 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 77 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 17 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Latvia (121 nights).

350 rooms (-17.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 540 rooms (-46.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 5,700 registered bed nights (-26.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (+79.5 %) for foreigners in Sala, in total 6,900 (-17.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sala out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 65 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 65 percent compared to earlier year. In Sala, length of stay in April was on average 2.7 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sala on average 2.5 nights (+46.3 %) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-3.0 %).

680 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 50 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.7 percent were domestic, and 17.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sala on average 2.5 nights (+0.99) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-0.39).
