Registered bed nights increased two percent

In June 2019, 5,200 bed nights were recorded in Salla (+2.0 %), of which 4,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 820 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased four percent and foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's June.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (450 nights).

5,000 nights (+7.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 220 nights (-52.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 51,900 bed nights (+0.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 24,100 (+0.2 %) for foreigners in Salla, in total 76,000 (+0.1 %) nights.

Total of 2.3 million bed nights (+6.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.7 million nights (+7.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 608,000 nights (+3.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salla out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,500 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 78.3 percent were domestic, and 21.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salla on average 3.6 nights (-0.33) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.04).
