Registered bed nights increased one percent (February)

In February 2024, 19,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Salla (+0.5 %), of which 12,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (4,900 nights).

17,900 nights (+21.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (-60.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 20,000 registered bed nights (-6.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,100 (+13.9 %) for foreigners in Salla, in total 35,200 (+1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+1.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 634,000 nights (+13.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salla out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Total of 470,000 registered bed nights (+8.5 %) were recorded in Lapland, of which 114,000 nights (-6.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 355,000 nights (+14.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salla out of total registered bed nights in Lapland was 4.2 %, out of domestic bed nights 10.8 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.
