15,600 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 15,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Salla (-27.2 %), of which 12,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 53 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 27 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (1,500 nights).

14,900 nights (-28.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 620 nights (+53.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 30,100 registered bed nights (-5.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,300 (-4.8 %) for foreigners in Salla, in total 50,400 (-5.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 996,000 registered bed nights (-46.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 730,000 nights (-43.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 265,000 nights (-53.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salla out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Market share in Lapland 6.3 percent

Total of 247,000 registered bed nights (-40.1 %) were recorded in Lapland, of which 128,000 nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 119,000 nights (-45.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salla out of total registered bed nights in Lapland was 6.3 %, out of domestic bed nights 10.1 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

2,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 39 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.8 percent were domestic, and 17.2 percent were from foreign countries.
