Registered bed nights increased 16 percent
In December 2021, 18,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Salla (+16.5 %), of which 12,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 6,000 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 16 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Spain (3,200 nights).
13,500 nights (+4.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,700 nights (+76.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 157,000 registered bed nights (+40.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,800 (-49.0 %) for foreigners in Salla, in total 168,000 (+25.9 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.
