Paid bed nights

3,500 registered bed nights

In January 2018, 3,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Salo (-18.6 %), of which 3,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 19 percent from last year's January.

2,200 nights (-33.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+27.9 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (+3.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 856,000 nights (+0.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 671,000 nights (+7.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salo out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Salo, length of stay in January was on average 1.8 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.3 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salo on average 1.9 nights and foreigners 1.4 nights .

1,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.2 percent were domestic, and 18.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salo on average 1.9 nights (-0.26) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.86).
