5,600 registered bed nights

In October 2020, 5,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Salo (-16.4 %), of which 5,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 155 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 80 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 16 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (65 nights).

3,800 nights (-8.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (-30.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 34,600 registered bed nights (-38.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,000 (-42.0 %) for foreigners in Salo, in total 39,600 (-38.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-32.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (-15.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 80,200 nights (-81.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salo out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

2,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.0 percent were domestic, and 3.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salo on average 2.6 nights (+0.55) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.2).

Accommodation sales 501,000 euro

Total accommodation sales in October were 501,000 euro (+17,600). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 40.5 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 298,000 euro (-75,900) and non-registered sales 203,000 euro (+93,400).

Total January-October sales were 4.2 million euro and they decreased 389,000 euro from the previous year.
