Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In September 2021, 6,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Salo (+7.8 %), of which 6,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 280 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 33 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (91 nights).

4,300 nights (+2.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,100 nights (+20.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 40,700 registered bed nights (+39.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,200 (-55.2 %) for foreigners in Salo, in total 42,900 (+25.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+28.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+21.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 205,000 nights (+122.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salo out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

2,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.2 percent were domestic, and 4.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salo on average 2.5 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-1.0).

Ferry arrivals from different harbors

Accommodation sales 504,000 euro

Total accommodation sales in September were 504,000 euro (-28,600). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 31.2 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 347,000 euro (-7,500) and non-registered sales 157,000 euro (-21,100).

Total January-September sales were 4.3 million euro and they increased 573,000 euro from the previous year.
