Paid bed nights

9,300 registered bed nights

In March 2023, 9,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Salten Region (-25.8 %), of which 8,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 810 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 57 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 26 percent from last year's March.

1,400 nights (-16.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,100 nights (-9.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 20,900 registered bed nights (-11.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,900 (-51.8 %) for foreigners in Salten Region, in total 22,800 (-17.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+0.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 554,000 nights (+9.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salten Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Salten Region, length of stay in March was on average 2.1 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-6.1 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 2.1 nights (-14.2 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-26.9 %).

4,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.5 percent were domestic, and 9.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 2.1 nights (-0.36) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.79).
