35,100 registered bed nights

In August 2022, 35,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Salten Region (-2.3 %), of which 20,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 50 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's August.

5,200 nights (-19.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,600 nights (+24.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 113,000 registered bed nights (-17.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 60,200 (+225.5 %) for foreigners in Salten Region, in total 173,000 (+11.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salten Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

19,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 55.7 percent were domestic, and 44.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 1.9 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.1).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 8.0 million crowns (-365,000).

Registered January-August sales were 42.4 million crowns and they increased 5.8 million crowns from the previous year.
