4,000 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 4,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Salten Region (-69.7 %), of which 3,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 69 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 99 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 70 percent from last year's May.

83 nights (-94.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 340 nights (-83.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 12,100 registered bed nights (-64.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,200 (-87.0 %) for foreigners in Salten Region, in total 13,300 (-69.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.0 million registered bed nights (-62.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 959,000 nights (-51.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 70,600 nights (-90.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salten Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased 23 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. In Salten Region, length of stay in May was on average 2.7 nights and in Norway 2.7 nights (+46.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 2.6 nights (+18.6 %) and foreigners 3.8 nights (-15.6 %).

1,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.8 percent were domestic, and 1.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 2.6 nights (+0.8) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+0.83).
