Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 63 percent

In February 2021, 6,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Salten Region (+63.4 %), of which 6,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 70 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 63 percent from last year's February.

1,400 nights (-10.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 770 nights (-59.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 11,300 registered bed nights (+116.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 570 (+16.9 %) for foreigners in Salten Region, in total 11,900 (+107.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 923,000 registered bed nights (-58.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 836,000 nights (-46.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 87,600 nights (-86.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Salten Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 109 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 109 percent compared to earlier year. In Salten Region, length of stay in February was on average 3.4 nights and in Norway 2.6 nights (+31.2 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 3.3 nights (+61.4 %) and foreigners 5.8 nights (+175.0 %).

2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Salten Region on average 3.3 nights (+1.7) and foreigners 5.8 nights (+4.0).
