6,200 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 6,200 bed nights were recorded in Sandviken (-39.0 %), of which 5,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 460 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 39 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 35 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 39 percent from last year's March.

1,800 rooms (-44.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,300 rooms (-50.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 25,000 bed nights (-10.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,700 (-23.8 %) for foreigners in Sandviken, in total 26,700 (-11.6 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sandviken out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

2,500 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 45 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 96.2 percent were domestic, and 3.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sandviken on average 2.4 nights (+0.21) and foreigners 4.9 nights (+1.9).
