Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In December 2021, 6,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sandviken (+35.0 %), of which 6,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 32 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 141 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (47 nights).

2,000 rooms (+74.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (+56.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 115,000 registered bed nights (+4.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,900 (+78.6 %) for foreigners in Sandviken, in total 122,000 (+7.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sandviken out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

3,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 104 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sandviken on average 2.0 nights (-1.1) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.65).
