Satakunta: Tourism in a nutshell
17,800 registered bed nights
In January 2019, 17,800 bed nights were recorded in Satakunta (-19.7 %), of which 14,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 19 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 24 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 20 percent from last year's January.
7,200 nights (-17.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,600 nights (-21.0 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Satakunta out of total bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.
10,500 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 89.7 percent were domestic, and 10.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Satakunta on average 1.6 nights (-0.22) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.18).
