10,900 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 10,900 bed nights were recorded in Satakunta (-67.0 %), of which 8,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 68 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 63 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 67 percent from last year's May.

5,100 nights (-59.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,800 nights (-71.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 50,100 bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,100 (-35.7 %) for foreigners in Satakunta, in total 62,200 (-45.4 %) nights.

Market share 3.6 percent

Total of 300,000 bed nights (-81.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 280,000 nights (-74.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 19,500 nights (-95.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Satakunta out of total bed nights was 3.6 % (+1.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.1 % and foreign bed nights 11.6 %.

4,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 74 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Satakunta on average 2.1 nights (+0.26) and foreigners 11 nights (+7.7).

Registered accommodation sales in May were 732,000 euro (-1.7 million).

Registered January-May sales were 4.2 million euro and they decreased 3.5 million euro from the previous year.
