18,800 registered bed nights

In February 2020, 18,800 bed nights were recorded in Satakunta (-0.7 %), of which 15,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and foreign bed nights increased 40 percent. In total, bed nights decreased one percent from last year's February.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (480 nights).

7,800 nights (-11.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,000 nights (+8.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 29,600 bed nights (-4.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,400 (+12.2 %) for foreigners in Satakunta, in total 36,000 (-2.0 %) nights.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 1.9 million bed nights (+7.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 611,000 nights (+1.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Satakunta out of total bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

11,500 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 90.4 percent were domestic, and 9.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Satakunta on average 1.5 nights (-0.08) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+0.75).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 1.2 million euro (-66,200).

Registered January-February sales were 2.4 million euro and they decreased 110,000 euro from the previous year.
