33,200 registered bed nights

In May 2019, 33,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Satakunta (-1.7 %), of which 27,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased four percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (1,800 nights).

12,800 nights (-12.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 20,300 nights (+6.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 95,100 registered bed nights (-9.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,900 (-15.8 %) for foreigners in Satakunta, in total 114,000 (-10.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.1 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+6.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+4.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 465,000 nights (+13.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Satakunta out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.3 %.

16,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.7 percent were domestic, and 11.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Satakunta on average 1.8 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+0.13).
