Registered bed nights increased 132 percent

In May 2021, 25,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Satakunta (+132.1 %), of which 21,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 142 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 95 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 132 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (1,600 nights).

13,100 nights (+155.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,200 nights (+111.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 59,900 registered bed nights (+19.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,500 (-13.3 %) for foreigners in Satakunta, in total 70,400 (+13.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.0 percent

Total of 849,000 registered bed nights (+183.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 777,000 nights (+177.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 71,700 nights (+266.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Satakunta out of total registered bed nights was 3.0 % (-0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 6.2 %.

13,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 220 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.2 percent were domestic, and 14.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Satakunta on average 1.8 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-8.8).
