23,300 bed nights in paid accommodation (April)
Total of 23,300 bed nights (-8.4 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Savonlinna Region in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 68 % and non-registered 32 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 90,900 (-1.9 %). Share of registered was 71 % and non-registered 29 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
15,700 registered bed nights (April)
In April 2023, 15,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna Region (-11.6 %), of which 14,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 840 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 58 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 12 percent from last year's April.
10,400 nights (-19.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,300 nights (+9.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 61,000 registered bed nights (-5.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (+17.3 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna Region, in total 64,600 (-4.4 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.39) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.15).

Accommodation sales 1.2 million euro (April)
Total accommodation sales in April were 1.2 million euro (-71,700). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 21.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 936,000 euro (-74,800) and non-registered sales 259,000 euro (+3,100).
Total January-April sales were 5.0 million euro and they increased 301,000 euro from the previous year.
