Registered bed nights increased 12 percent (March)
In March 2022, 17,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna Region (+11.6 %), of which 16,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 630 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,600 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's March.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (390 nights).
12,600 nights (+63.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,500 nights (-41.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 47,200 registered bed nights (+13.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,600 (+807.4 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna Region, in total 49,800 (+18.9 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.5 percent were domestic, and 1.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna Region on average 1.7 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 4.3 nights (+0.03).
