33,600 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 33,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna Region (-31.2 %), of which 33,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 260 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 98 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 31 percent from last year's June.

25,100 nights (-34.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,500 nights (-19.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 77,500 registered bed nights (-30.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,600 (-60.5 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna Region, in total 89,100 (-36.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.0 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Savonlinna Region out of total registered bed nights was 3.0 % (+0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

18,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.5 percent were domestic, and 0.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna Region on average 1.8 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-0.44).

20,300 Russian travelers via eastern border

A total of 20,300 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

Russian visa applications decreased 99 percent

There was a total of 590 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 65.2 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.

Accommodation sales 1.5 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in June were 1.5 million euro (-909,000).

Registered January-June sales were 4.4 million euro and they decreased 2.8 million euro from the previous year.
