26,700 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 26,700 bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Savonlinna Region in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 72 % and non-registered 28 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 101,000 (+9.1 %). Share of registered was 74 % and non-registered 26 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Registered bed nights increased eight percent
In April 2023, 19,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna Region (+7.6 %), of which 18,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's April.
13,500 nights (+4.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,600 nights (+15.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 71,900 registered bed nights (+11.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,800 (-10.4 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna Region, in total 74,700 (+10.6 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.3 percent were domestic, and 1.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna Region on average 1.6 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.15).

Accommodation sales 1.5 million euro
Total accommodation sales in April were 1.5 million euro (+223,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 17.4 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.2 million euro (+220,000) and non-registered sales 259,000 euro (+3,100).
Total January-April sales were 5.6 million euro and they increased 894,000 euro from the previous year.
