14,100 registered bed nights
In February 2020, 14,100 bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna (-0.8 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased one percent and foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, bed nights decreased one percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (1,700 nights).
10,800 nights (+5.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,300 nights (-16.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 18,400 bed nights (-10.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,200 (-0.7 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna, in total 26,700 (-7.6 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 86.6 percent were domestic, and 13.4 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna on average 1.5 nights (-0.62) and foreigners 2.7 nights (-1.2).

The airport received a total of 133 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 17 percent.
Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.
In addition, there were 140 passengers departing the airport (-14.6 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 270 (-16.0 %).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 36 percent
A total of 255,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 91.5 percent.

There was a total of 51,600 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 83.4 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.

Registered accommodation sales in February were 717,000 euro (+70,200).
Registered January-February sales were 1.3 million euro and they decreased 34,800 euro from the previous year.
