In April 2020, 1,200 bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna (-89.6 %), of which 1,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 18 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 88 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 99 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 90 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (7.0 nights).

610 nights (-92.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 590 nights (-80.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 25,600 bed nights (-39.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 9,500 (-23.2 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna, in total 35,200 (-35.5 %) nights.

Total of 190,000 bed nights (-88.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 173,000 nights (-85.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights (-95.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Savonlinna out of total bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

560 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 90 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 98.6 percent were domestic, and 1.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna on average 2.2 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.3).

The airport received a total of 2.0 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 100 percent.

A total of 20,100 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

Registered accommodation sales in April were 68,700 euro (-586,000).

Registered January-April sales were 1.8 million euro and they decreased 942,000 euro from the previous year.
