Total of 16,300 bed nights (-5.9 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Savonlinna in February 2019. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 87 % and non-registered 13 %.
Between January and February, the number of paid bed nights was 35,100 (-1.7 %). Share of registered was 82 % and non-registered 18 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased eight percent
In February 2019, 14,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Savonlinna (+8.3 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's February.
10,200 nights (+0.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,900 nights (+35.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 20,600 registered bed nights (+17.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,300 (+1.8 %) for foreigners in Savonlinna, in total 28,900 (+12.8 %) registered nights.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Savonlinna, length of stay in February was on average 2.4 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.3 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna on average 2.1 nights (+6.6 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+9.2 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.7 percent were domestic, and 13.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Savonlinna on average 2.1 nights (-0.69) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+0.61).
