Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In September 2021, 31,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Seinäjoki Region (+12.3 %), of which 25,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 30 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Thailand (4,800 nights).

17,000 nights (+9.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 14,200 nights (+16.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 257,000 registered bed nights (+19.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,000 (+5.9 %) for foreigners in Seinäjoki Region, in total 269,000 (+18.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+21.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 204,000 nights (+121.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Seinäjoki Region out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 3.0 %.

15,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.7 percent were domestic, and 3.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki Region on average 1.6 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 12 nights (+0.56).

Registered January-September sales were 12.3 million euro and they increased 1.1 million euro from the previous year.
