Seinäjoki Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased five percent
In January 2019, 18,100 bed nights were recorded in Seinäjoki Region (+4.8 %), of which 16,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased four percent and foreign bed nights increased 19 percent. In total, bed nights increased five percent from last year's January.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (260 nights).
9,800 nights (+5.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,400 nights (+3.9 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Market share 1.2 percent
Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Seinäjoki Region out of total bed nights was 1.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.
11,600 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.28).
