Registered bed nights increased five percent

In October 2019, 29,700 bed nights were recorded in Seinäjoki Region (+4.9 %), of which 27,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased four percent and foreign bed nights increased 21 percent. In total, bed nights increased five percent from last year's October.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (370 nights).

16,800 nights (+2.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,900 nights (+8.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 343,000 bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 32,200 (+64.5 %) for foreigners in Seinäjoki Region, in total 375,000 (+5.7 %) nights.

Market share 1.8 percent

Total of 1.7 million bed nights (+7.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+5.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (+12.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Seinäjoki Region out of total bed nights was 1.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

16,300 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.7 percent were domestic, and 4.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki Region on average 1.8 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+0.37).

Accommodation sales 1.6 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in October were 1.6 million euro (+86,900).

Registered January-October sales were 18.5 million euro and they increased 827,000 euro from the previous year.
