Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In December 2017, 18,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Seinäjoki Region (+12.9 %), of which 17,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 780 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's December.

12,300 nights (+5.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,300 nights (+30.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 356,000 registered bed nights (-4.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,200 (-20.1 %) for foreigners in Seinäjoki Region, in total 380,000 (-5.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 969,000 nights (+11.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 737,000 nights (+12.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Seinäjoki Region out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Seinäjoki Region, length of stay in December was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+0.4 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki Region on average 1.7 nights (+1.0 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-14.5 %).

11,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.5 percent were domestic, and 3.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki Region on average 1.7 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-1.1).
