Seinäjoki: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased seven percent
In March 2019, 13,800 bed nights were recorded in Seinäjoki (+6.5 %), of which 12,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased five percent and foreign bed nights increased 23 percent. In total, bed nights increased seven percent from last year's March.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from France (270 nights).
6,000 nights (-5.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,900 nights (+17.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 34,400 bed nights (+1.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,000 (+1.6 %) for foreigners in Seinäjoki, in total 37,400 (+1.9 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.9 million bed nights (-2.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 566,000 nights (-1.4 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Seinäjoki out of total bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.
9,800 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki on average 1.3 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.32).
240 international congress guests in 2019
The number of international congress quests increased 64 percent from the previous year.
There was a total of 5.0 congresses organized (+3.0) in 2019.

Accommodation sales 971,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in March were 971,000 euro (+84,800). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 2.1 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 951,000 euro (+83,300) and Airbnb and HomeAway sales 19,800 euro (+1,500).
Total January-March sales were 2.7 million euro and they increased 95,700 euro from the previous year.
