Paid bed nights

13,000 registered bed nights

In March 2018, 13,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Seinäjoki (-5.4 %), of which 12,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 950 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 36 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (154 nights).

6,300 nights (+18.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,700 nights (-20.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 33,800 registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,000 (-11.3 %) for foreigners in Seinäjoki, in total 36,800 (+0.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+4.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 574,000 nights (+7.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Seinäjoki out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Seinäjoki, length of stay in March was on average 1.5 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki on average 1.4 nights (+1.1 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-13.0 %).

8,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Seinäjoki on average 1.4 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-1.0).
