Sigtuna: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 91 percent
In December 2021, 52,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Sigtuna (+91.4 %), of which 40,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 103 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 61 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 91 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (2,100 nights).
18,600 rooms (+73.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 19,200 rooms (+112.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 394,000 registered bed nights (+16.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 135,000 (+55.7 %) for foreigners in Sigtuna, in total 529,000 (+24.3 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

40,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 140 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.0 percent were domestic, and 22.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.53).

Registered accommodation sales in December were 41.4 million SEK (+26.2 million).
Registered January-December sales were 354.2 million SEK and they increased 55.6 million euro from the previous year.
