Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In September 2019, 88,300 bed nights were recorded in Sigtuna (+7.4 %), of which 76,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, bed nights increased seven percent from last year's September.

32,000 rooms (-7.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 33,800 rooms (+30.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 596,000 bed nights (+1.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 117,000 (-11.2 %) for foreigners in Sigtuna, in total 713,000 (-0.8 %) nights.

Market share 2.0 percent

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sigtuna out of total bed nights was 2.0 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

69,800 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 86.1 percent were domestic, and 13.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 1.3 nights (+0.01).
