Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 29 percent

In March 2023, 92,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sigtuna (+28.8 %), of which 69,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 23,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 33 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's March.

33,200 rooms (+43.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 36,900 rooms (+23.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 180,000 registered bed nights (+46.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 65,000 (+32.7 %) for foreigners in Sigtuna, in total 245,000 (+42.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.4 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sigtuna out of total registered bed nights was 2.4 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 3.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Sigtuna, length of stay in March was on average 1.3 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (-7.7 %) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-14.6 %).

74,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 46 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.6 percent were domestic, and 25.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (-0.13) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-0.27).
