Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In October 2019, 84,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sigtuna (+4.4 %), of which 73,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's October.

25,400 rooms (-24.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 37,300 rooms (+38.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 669,000 registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 129,000 (-11.6 %) for foreigners in Sigtuna, in total 798,000 (-0.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.1 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sigtuna out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Sigtuna, length of stay in October was on average 1.3 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (+7.6 %) and foreigners 1.4 nights (+9.6 %).

66,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.3 percent were domestic, and 12.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 1.4 nights (+0.1).
