Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In January 2020, 73,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Sigtuna (+5.7 %), of which 61,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's January.

25,200 rooms (-13.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 27,400 rooms (+26.4 %) by business visitors.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 797,000 nights (-0.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sigtuna out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Sigtuna, length of stay in January was on average 1.3 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-2.0 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights and foreigners 1.6 nights .

54,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.3 percent were domestic, and 13.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.3 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.17).
